Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for Wicked: For Good, giving fans a sweeping look at how the next chapter in Oz will unfold. In the preview we see familiar faces and new conflicts emerging as Elphaba and Glinda confront the consequences of their past decisions. Dorothy makes a dramatic entry down the Yellow Brick Road alongside the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion as the Wizard demands proof that Elphaba is dead. Meanwhile a tornado looms not as a natural force but as one manipulated by Madame Morrible, hinting at darker intrigue at play.

The trailer amplifies relationships and tensions that were seeded in the first film. Glinda is shown receiving her signature pink bubble and marrying Fiyero. At the same time Elphaba exists on the fringes, exiled, haunted by her reputation as the Wicked Witch of the West. Their paths diverge more sharply. Power, love, betrayal and identity all intersect even as the two women remain deeply bound to one another’s fate.

Musical themes thread through the trailer. We hear strains of “Thank Goodness,” “No Good Deed” and “For Good” entwined with the visuals, adding weight to the emotional stakes. The songs heighten what’s at risk as Oz’s story tilts toward reckoning.

Director Jon M. Chu has described Wicked: For Good as darker and more emotionally intense than its predecessor. He framed the first film as being about choices. In contrast this sequel, he says, is about consequences. The new trailer underscores this shift: decisions made earlier are now forcing painful reckonings, betrayals and losses.

Some of the trailer’s visuals are striking in how they re-imagine familiar Oz lore. Madame Morrible’s hand in steering the tornado is a twist on expectations. The confrontation between Glinda’s wand and Elphaba’s broom on the Yellow Brick Road provides a stirring emblem of power clash and conflicted loyalties. Dorothy’s presence, arriving in Oz’s heart, turns the tale toward wider conflict and inevitability.

The trailer also spotlights how public perception is a battlefield. Glinda is shown navigating her role as a public figure while Elphaba’s image is weaponized by those who would cast her as villain. The contrast between public persona and private conscience becomes a key axis in the emotional tension between the two.

As the film’s release date of November 21, 2025 approaches, this trailer is meant to galvanize audiences to return to Oz. It positions Wicked: For Good as the emotional and narrative culmination of Elphaba and Glinda’s intertwined destinies. With the world watching, their choices may reshape the mythology itself.
